Dear Friends of Evansdale Elementary School:
Evansdale Elementary, Foundation and PTA would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you for you to the Entire Evansdale community for your support of our annual Eagle Trek Walk-A-Thon after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
This annual event raises money that is used for a myriad of enriching programs, technologies and improvements that promote excellence in education for our community school. We look forward to making the most of your donated dollars in support of our scholars.
Along with your support and our dedicated Evansdale students collecting pledges from friends and family we met our goal and raised over $45,000!!! We absolutely could not have done this without you!
The Foundation looks forward to maximizing these funds and partnering with the Evansdale community, faculty, and PTA to
- Identify, prioritize, and address most critical needs based on student, parent, educator, administrator, and community input.
- Enrich academic and interpersonal experience
- Promote student empowerment, diversity, compassion, creativity, and discovery and
- Operate with openness, inclusion, respect, and integrity
Did you Know Evansdale Elementary School:
- Has approximately 500 students form our community enrolled in from Pre-K through 5th Grade
- Is a feeder elementary school into Henderson Middle School and Lakeside High School.
- Is a Title 1 School; more than 40% of our students are economically disadvantaged Is STEM Certified in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math
- Is a French Immersion School where students receive 50% of their daily instruction in French and 50% in English; a highly sought after program within DeKalb County
- Is the First and only dual STEM Certified/French Immersion school in DeKalb County, GA.
Did You Know that thru Eagle Trek:
- Evansdale students collectively walk hundreds of miles to raise funds to support their school.
- Our Community has be able to provide:
- Stipends to support teachers’ Gifted and/or ESOL certification
- 40 Chromebooks + charging table to improve ratio of students to laptops
- An overhaul of the school media center turning the space into a 21st century library
- Seesaw, a school-wide communication and student portfolio platform
- Little Sponges (K-2) and Savio (3-5), French Dual-Language Immersion online tools
- Support for French Immersion Intern to support Dual Language Teachers
- Support for classroom field trips extending the classroom beyond Evansdale
