EagleTrek is a walk-a-thon with the goal of raising money and support to give our teachers and school the resources they need! Students will collect donations February 20rd through March 14th. \nAll students will celebrate their hard work during the school day on March 14th with the walk-a-thon at the school. DESCRIPTION:Dear Friends of Evansdale Elementary School: \nEvansdale Elementary\, Foundation and PTA would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you for you to the Entire Evansdale community for your support of our annual Eagle Trek Walk-A-Thon after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. \nThis annual event raises money that is used for a myriad of enriching programs\, technologies and improvements that promote excellence in education for our community school. We look forward to making the most of your donated dollars in support of our scholars. \nAlong with your support and our dedicated Evansdale students collecting pledges from friends and family we met our goal and raised over  $45\,000!!! We absolutely could not have done this without you! \nThe Foundation looks forward to maximizing these funds and partnering with the Evansdale community\, faculty\, and PTA to \n\nIdentify\, prioritize\, and address most critical needs based on student\, parent\, educator\, administrator\, and community input.\nEnrich academic and interpersonal experience\nPromote student empowerment\, diversity\, compassion\, creativity\, and discovery and\nOperate with openness\, inclusion\, respect\, and integrity\n\nDid you Know Evansdale Elementary School: \n\nHas approximately 500 students form our community enrolled in from Pre-K through 5th Grade\nIs a feeder elementary school into Henderson Middle School and Lakeside High School.\nIs a Title 1 School; more than 40% of our students are economically disadvantaged Is STEM Certified in Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, and Math\nIs a French Immersion School where students receive 50% of their daily instruction in French and 50% in English; a highly sought after program within DeKalb County\nIs the First and only dual STEM Certified/French Immersion school in DeKalb County\, GA.\n\nDid You Know that thru Eagle Trek:  \n\nEvansdale students collectively walk hundreds of miles to raise funds to support their school.\nOur Community has be able to provide:\n\nStipends to support teachers’ Gifted and/or ESOL certification\n40 Chromebooks + charging table to improve ratio of students to laptops\nAn overhaul of the school media center turning the space into a 21st century library\nSeesaw\, a school-wide communication and student portfolio platform\nLittle Sponges (K-2) and Savio (3-5)\, French Dual-Language Immersion online tools\nSupport for French Immersion Intern to support Dual Language Teachers\nSupport for classroom field trips extending the classroom beyond Evansdale\n\n\n\nWarmest Regards\, \nEvansdale Education Foundation Board

DESCRIPTION:Thank you to our generous donors whose gifts made it possible for the Foundation to support the refresh of Evansdale’s Media Center into a 21st Century Library!  According to the Department of Education\, the more students read or are read to for fun on their own time and at home\, the higher their reading scores. We also know that students’ access to books and other printed materials is a key variable affecting reading acquisition.
